Hi everyone and welcome to my blog! I decided to start this as I think it will help me with my transition from vegetarian to vegan. I also love looking at others blogs/youtubes for cooking inspiration and just to see how others eat.
This blog is not meant to be telling anyone what they should do, or how they should eat, its mainly for myself and for others who may be making a change or looking for some inspiration. It doesn't matter if you are vegan, vegetarian or eat meat, this blog is meant to spread awareness while also documenting the ups and downs of becoming vegan (I know first hand that there are a few). In my blog I will post 'What I Eat In A Day' posts, other vegan recipes, lifestyle and fashion etc, and how my journey is going.
I'll make this quick, but it's probably best to explain why i'm making this change. I have learnt so much about the meat and dairy industry, firstly through my sister, who has been Vegan for over a year, and from other documentaries/research. My dad decided to go Vegan in October of last year after reading some books written by famous Vegans/celebrities and also doing a lot of research. It was at this time I tried to go Vegan, but found myself slipping and finding it hard to keep it up. I am a very fussy eater and always have been, and I knew I had drastically changed my diet way too fast. Which is why I stuck to being a vegetarian for a few months, until now.
I think it is a personal change and different for everyone, but something just clicked with me. I started to see things differently and wonder why I hadn't made the change sooner. I thought that if I wouldn't eat a dog, or cat, then why could I eat a pig or cow? It just seemed so simple to me - I feel that no animal should be harmed or killed for our consumption, and if I wouldn't kill an animal myself, what made it OK for me to go and buy a nicely packed piece of meat at the supermarket and eat it? Anyway, the point of this blog is to hopefully meet other vegans or anyone with an interest in food, to give others ideas on what they can eat and how I plan on staying Vegan.
If you have an interest in this also, or just want to learn more, this video is really worth a watch and its not too in your face, but has the facts and very good information.
